TTA appoints director of adult division and launches two new websites

Top Talent Agency, the UK’s fastest growing theatrical agency for children which is based in St Albans, has appointed a director to build its adult business and launches new websites for both businesses this week.

Leoni Kibbey, director of the successful St Albans International Film Festival*, casting director, actress and winner of the Mayor’s Pride Award for Cultural Innovation in 2014, has been appointed director of TTA Adults, and joins a team of six at the London office, including Warren Bacci, director and head agent, and Melissa Cursons, children’s agent.

Warren Bacci says: “We have been growing exponentially since we launched the children’s theatrical agency seven years ago and we set up the adult division to build on that success.  In addition, some of the talented children we had on our books at the start of the agency are now adult actors and have naturally progressed to the adult agency.

“We have recognised that we need to devote specialised, expert attention to our adult actors and so I am extremely pleased to announce that Leoni Kibbey has joined as a director of the business.

“Leoni is hugely experienced in this industry and brings a wealth of knowledge about performing arts, film and television to the agency.  The film festival she set up in 2013 has made a huge impact on the city of St Albans and has discovered exciting new talent in filmmaking internationally, as well as recognising acting talent such as Luke Treadaway, who won Best Actor at the festival last year.  Leoni also has direct experience of casting major projects and of working as an actress herself.”

Leoni Kibbey says: “I am very excited to be joining TTA at a time when British actors are leading the way in film and theatre productions across the world. We have British actors winning Oscars and becoming household names in the US; we have films like Star Wars being made in the UK; and we have government support in the form of creative sector tax reliefs, resulting in the UK becoming one of the most attractive places to make film and TV.

“I am now actively looking for the best adult actors who want representation, and am pleased that we have recently offered contracts to 50 new adults, growing that part of the business to 150 actors, following auditions across the country.”

One such new client is The Voice finalist Leanne Jarvis, who has just come on the TTA books and is now on the UK tour of Godspell.

The children’s agency has also recently held auditions nationwide. More than 600 children applied to audition.

The new website has been built by Shy Studios.  The TTA Adults website has been designed to give casting directors the best possible information on actors to help them make their selections, and the TTA Kids website has been designed with the new child protection guidelines as a priority.
